Moment taker. Memory Maker.

I’m Dearne, but I go by Dea.

A lot of people can’t pronounce Dearne too well…so I end up with variations..such as ‘Dern’ , ‘Dean’ and ‘Dearknee’…yep, I can’t work out how either! Seeing we are friends, you can call me Dea (pronounced D!).

I rekindled my passion for photography after my nanna passed away in 2003. After she died I sat and looked through her old photo albums and realised what I always wanted to be as a kid was a really important part in preserving people’s memories. My company is named after the black bow’s that were on my wedding dress and wedding cake.

Random facts about me:

  • I won an award for letting go of the wall at roller skating in primary school - this was the only sports award I was ever given.

  • I love painting abstract art but only seem to commit to doing this every December.

  • I met my husband at King Street Hotel in 2007.

  • We have 2 boys together. We think that both of our stubborn and individuality created a super power in both of them.

  • My grandparents started a fancy dress shop in 1988, which was taken over by my mum in 2010.

  • My brother has a bike and car restoration business (way more creative than me!).

  • My dad is an artist and his local coffee shop has nicknamed him ‘Sketch’ but we call him Scuba Steve.

I don’t take myself too seriously, am obsessed with my staffy, mexican food, watching live music, a dance floor and drinking coffee…and the occasional beer, Prosecco or cocktail.
